We are very excited to announce the first addition to At the Intersections since its publication. The Movement Advancement Project reached out to us and proposed writing a section about the unique experience of bisexual youth experiencing homelessness.
“Bisexual youth are underserved, yet they comprise the largest proportion of LGB youth experiencing homelessness. I hope this chapter of At the Intersections motivates youth-serving agencies and providers to review their services for how to better (and best) serve bisexual youth experiencing homelessness.” Heron Greenesmith, Esq., LGBT Movement and Policy Analyst, Movement Advancement Project
We would also like to thank the peer reviewers, Kate Estrop, the Board Co-President, from the Bisexual Resource Center; Landon “LJ” Woolston, the LGBTQ Homeless Service Liaison, from Project SAFE; and Amy Nicole Miller, Associate Director from Howard Brown Health. Please note that some of the young folks who contributed to this section wish to remain anonymous. We would like to thank them for their contribution and respect their privacy.
The At the Intersections team is committed to ensuring this resource is up-to-date and reflective of the community of LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness. If you have any ideas for additional sections to add to this report or edits to existing sections please let us know.
